Raffle update |
|
Some of the newer forum members may not be aware that a Battlegrounds license will be raffled off on the day of v1.0's release. Since that day will likely be the day after tomorrow, I just wanted to remind folks of this. Only registered forum members with at least one post on these forums are eligible to win.
The prize was going to be a free Player Client or a free Floating License (winner's choice), but I've decided to sweeten the pot.
Now, the winner can get their choice of the following:
1) One GM Client
2) Two Player Clients
3) Two Floating Licenses
4) One Player Client and one Floating License
Keep in mind that floating licenses are useless to you if you don't have a GM Client to install them on (unless you want them as a gift for your GM).

I never got around to holding this raffle, but I never forgot about it.
I'd like to hold the raffle tonight. Here's how I'd like to do it so that it's fair, public, and legit:
1. I need someone to host a BRPG game session at the agreed upon time that I and anyone interested in watching can join.
2. There are currently 181 forum users with at least one post to their name (not counting myself, LOL!), so I'll roll 2d100 to generate a number between 2 and 200. Anything over 181 gets rerolled. Since I'll be logged in as a player, there is no way I can fudge the dice.
3. I'll consult this forum's memberlist, sorted by Total Posts in Decending order. Whichever member's number matches the die roll result will determine who wins the raffle.
This will all be done with v1.0.7, so if you haven't upgraded, please don't join the raffle session, since you'll just be automatically booted.
So...now all we need is a time and a volunteer to host the session. I'm thinking 9 PM EST might be good, since most folks will be home from work by then (at least on this side of the Altantic).

Thanks for offering to host. I forgot that there's now a two hour time difference between me and the East Coast. Would you mind if we do this at 8 PM EST instead?
Raffle witnesses are welcome/encouraged to drop in. The IP address and port number will be posted in this thread.

And the winner is...
Old Sparky.
Congratulations!
(Hmm, he hasn't posted since Nov 2005. I hope he's still around and reading the forums. He has one week to claim his prize. If he doesn't, I'll hold a new raffle.)

Nope.
I'll try to hold a new raffle tomorrow.
Old Sparky's gonna kick himself if he ever comes back and finds out.

OK, Omnidon hosted for me. The new raffle winner is Eldtrich Rogue.
Congratulations!
If you're still around, just claim your prize here by posting within a week. Otherwise, I'll just have to continue holding the raffle until someone wins AND claims it.

How about I save you some time and claim it now? I'm bound to come up at some point.

Anyone care to host a new raffle drawing for me today using v1.0.8a?
Same prize selection as on the 16 May raffle (see above).

OK, this time, I took the liberty of rolling for two possible winners.
Heliopolix came up first. He has one week within which to claim his prize.
If he doesn't, Ronin can claim it (he came up second).
If neither of them reply within a week, well...then I guess we hold another raffle.

Let's do this raffle again tomorrow, since neither Heliopolix not Ronin claimed the prize.

Welcome, Highway Man.
Not yet, but you just qualified.
Omnidon, wanna host up a session for me right now in v1.0.8a? Let's do this.

The new raffle winner is Battleg. As before, he has one week to claim the prize.
The runner up draw, just in case Battleg doesn't show, is Techtroll.
Congrats, and I hope you see this post.

Well, still no replies from the winnners. Another drawing now? (Eventually, I'll get drawn just by sheer perseverence...)
