Subject description: A free digital boardgame conversion for BGE

About the Game:
"Pioneer in Peril" is an introductory version of the full "Outlaws: Adventures in the Old West" boardgame, a free Print-and-Play boardgame designed by David Murray II, which was originally released in 2010. The original Print-and-Play games can be downloaded from here. This digital conversion of "Pioneer in Peril" for use with BGE is being released with the game designer's permission.

Number of Players:
2-4

Estimated Playing Time:
15-60 minutes, depending on the scenario (use of VOIP is highly recommended for online games)

Complexity Level:
Easy to Moderate, depending on the scenario

Game Summary
A fast-playing game of gunfights in the Old West, circa 1865-1890. The game system is based around an action track system where characters expend actions to perform activities. Wounds are represented by randomly drawn wound counters that may result in anything from a small leg graze to a belly wound that will get worse during the course of the game to a direct head shot that takes out a man immediately. Each character in the game has his own character card with which a player tracks what he holds and carries and any wounds he picks up.

Three stand-alone scenarios (called Shootouts) are included, and you can also create your own scenarios. The game system is also highly suitable for tweaking or expanding (by adding house rules), if you are so inclined.

Download:
Pioneer in Peril for BGE (29.6 MB)

The above download contains everything needed to play the game if you already have at least one Gamer Client license (BGE v1.0 or higher). For multiplayer games, the extra players will need a Gamer Client of their own, or they can play using the free BGE Demo if the host has enough free Player Slots available for them to use.

Installation instructions are included in the download.

Enjoy!

Here are some screenshots of what the game looks like in BGE. Click on the images to view them at full size.

The character cards are used to keep track of the characters' inventories, wounds, and action points.

A handy Play Aid can be called up at any time to reference most of the game's charts, tables, and diagrams.
