BRPG v1.6 is now available for download. It is to be considered in beta status for the time being.
The main features of this update are:
¢ Added a Lobby feature for chatting and finding games online
¢ Minor bug fixes
The format for Encounters and Deployments has not changed since v1.5b.
BRPG v1.6 is currently only available as a patch for v1.5a or v1.5b. You must
already have v1.5a or v1.5b installed in order to use this patch. The "User Cast.cxt" file has not changed since v1.5, so copying over the "User Cast.cxt" file from a prior BRPG version may be a fast and efficient way to preserve your media if you are updating from that version of BRPG.
BRPG v1.6 Patch for Mac & Windows
How to "install" this patch: Unzip the downloaded file, then simply move the included files into the corresponding BRPG v1.5.x folders, overwriting the existing files when prompted.
EDIT by Omni: All files except the readme go in your "Support Files" folder.
Although a ReadMe file with the information below is contained in the v1.6 download, some people might find it useful to see the changes prior to downloading the zip file.
¢ Added a Lobby to BRPG, which can be accessed via the BG button's popup menu, or by pressing Shift-L. Once the Lobby window is open, type in your username and press the connect button. The Lobby is still very rudimentary, as it only allows for basic chatting, but it should prove useful for finding a game, gathering prior to a scheduled game session, or getting a quick pick-up game or demo going with whoever happens to be logged in at the time. Logging into the lobby is completely independent of whether or not you are hosting (or connected to) a peer-to-peer game. The Lobby window can be closed at any time and you will remain logged onto the Lobby, unless you expressly exit (disconnect from) the Lobby first.
¢ Change: The Turn Sequencer now automatically closes during launch, once it has finished initializing.
¢ Bug fix: The Card Table window is no longer resizable.
¢ Bug fix: Pressing the "R" hotkey while a panel is open no longer brings up the original/deprecated (and now very broken) dice rolling panel.
