PostPosted: Fri Jul 17, 2009 1:00 pm    Post subject:  Kepli's Tree Pack 1
Subject description: A commercial artpack for BRPG

This artpack contains 154 trees in autumn/winter & spring/summer versions, all created by Kepli (who you probably know from the Dundjinni forums, Four Ugly Monsters, Greytale's Nook, and/or from these very forums).

These are the same trees that are offered for sale at www.creativegremlins.com, except that they have been resized for use in BRPG and all 5 tree packs that are normally sold separately have been bundled together at a discounted price. Those who wish to use the trees in mapping programs such as Dundjinni or CC3, or in graphic programs like Gimp or Photoshop, are best served buying the PNGs from the Creative Gremlins site.

All the graphics are high-resolution (122 pixels per cell), so they won't pixelate even at full zoom in BRPG.

In addition to the incredibly-detailed tree graphics, this artpack also comes with 13 sound effects, 10 of which are loopable. You can use these sound effects to help create a more immersive environment. They include ambient sounds for both day and night encounters.

This is the largest artpack to date, in term of the size of the download, weighing in at a hefty 181.1 MB. This includes a 28.3 MB PDF that serves as a handy visual reference for all the trees in the artpack.

This artpack is good for both GM's who like to improvise on-the-fly and those who like to create elaborate layouts well ahead of game-time. The trees also happen to look great on many of the maps in "Base Map Pack 1", if you happen to already own that artpack.

"Kepli's Tree Pack 1" costs $11 for GMs (but, like all artpacks, is free for players). Half of the proceeds will go to Kepli (the artist), and the other half to support continued development of BRPG. And if this artpack does well, Kepli is almost certainly going to create more artpacks in the future.

Note that players will need to have this artpack installed during sessions where the GM will use it, and everyone must be using BRPG v1.3e or higher.

The price of this artpack has just been reduced to $11 (from $12). I've edited the OP to reflect this.

PostPosted: Sat Nov 06, 2010 11:41 am    Post subject: KTP1 Unit Palette

About this Unit Palette
I put together this Unit Palette to add value to this BRPG artpack. It is intended to make the process of creating layouts with the artpack much faster and easier. BRPG v1.6L or higher is recommended in order to use this Unit Palette to its full potential. Note that in order to use this Unit Palette, you must own the commercial artpack.

Installation instructions are included in the zip file. Only the GM needs to install these files. Players do not need to download or install the Unit Palette, but they will of course need to download and install whichever artpack/s the GM plans to use in his/her game sessions.

Enjoy!

How To Use the Unit Palette
Load the included Encounter file. This will automatically load the relevant Media Asset Bundle (which contains the rendered text labels). The Encounter will present you with a blank map canvas, with the Unit Palette located just above the map. Simply copy a unit from the palette that you wish to place on the map, paste it to the desired spot on the map, and then use the token-swapping hotkeys to select the exact token you wish to use. When you are satisfied with your token selection, select the "Keep Only Current Token" command from the unit's contextual popup menu. After fine-tuning the exact placement of the unit on the map window (and perhaps adjusting the stacking order of the unit using the Unit Manager), you will probably want to select the "Tile" command to lock the unit in place and force it to be drawn underneath the grid overlay and figure bases.

The Unit Palette also comes in Deployment format, so that you can easily import the Unit Palette into any existing Encounter to continue fleshing it out.

Regardless of whether you use the Encounter or the Deployment, when you no longer need the Unit Palette on the map window (e.g., if you are finished creating your layout), simply select the entire Unit Palette with the selection marquee and delete it from your Encounter.
