BRPG v1.0.8a released

Post by heruca » Fri Jul 20, 2007 8:30 pm

BRPG v1.0.8a is now available for download. This is a full install, not a patch.

The main features of this update are:
¢ The GM may now choose which Fog of War layers to use (Manual Only, Dynamic Only, or Manual and Dynamic)
¢ Optimized rendering speed for the Fog of War feature
¢ A GM-selected image may now be used as the Fog of War mask, in lieu of a flat color
¢ Added an option for Persistent Fog of War
¢ Added a means of completing incomplete peer-to-peer map transfers.
¢ User-created Flash content may now be used in BRPG. These may be static, animated, and/or interactive in nature
¢ The Deploy Figure panel, Deploy Object panel, Change Map panel, Send Audio panel, Send Visual Aid panel, and the Library panel now remember the last category viewed, and will automatically access that category whenever the panel is opened
¢ Bug fixes

The format for Encounters has changed since v1.0.8. Files created in older versions of BRPG will need to be updated before they can be used. Failing to update them will result in errors or failure to load. The format for Deployments has not changed.

As usual, see the included ReadMe file for more details.

Download BRPG v1.0.8a here:

Installation instructions are included in each zip file.

Patch released for v1.0.8a

Post by heruca » Fri Jul 27, 2007 1:48 pm

Here is a small (1.5MB) patch that will fix the bug mentioned in the above post. It also fixes a cosmetic issue that manifested if you used the [F] hotkey while some other panel was already open.

Download the patch here:
http://www.battlegroundsgames.com/Patch_for_v108a.zip

To install this patch, simply uncompress the downloaded Zip file and place this new "Browser.dxr" file into your BRPG v1.0.8a folder, overwriting the file already in there.

This patch should work for both Windows and Mac OS X. There are no adverse effects if there is a mix of patched and unpatched v1.0.8a users in an online game.

Have you updated the main download as well?

Let us know when you do, because it will much much easier to have my players just download the patched version than trying to get them to install the patch, as easy as it is. Some of them aren't too computer savvy.

OK, I've re-uploaded v1.0.8a. It now has the patch pre-applied.

I'm leaving the separate patch available for anyone that downloaded v1.0.8a before this and still needs it.

Perhaps it'd be safe to make 1.08a the official version now?

Seems that way. I'll probably get around to it tomorrow.

OK, it's official: v1.0.8a is now the new default BRPG download (supplanting v1.0.7a).

Felicidades!

(Yes, still quietly lurking around. Visiting the vtt boards seems to be a hobby of mine these days.)

It looks like you are making real progress. I may have to find a game with an available floating license to check it all out.

:D

Good job!

Later.
