Marquee select function V 1.08
I am not sure whether anybody else has encountered this but I am unable to use the left-click-and-drag function to select anything. I tried toggling the different options (Objects Only, Figures Only, Both) to see if it made a difference but the problem still existed.
Will the screen actually show a marquee rectangle when selecting?
So at this point I am not sure whether it is a bug in BRPG or me missing something.
Thanks Heruca

Make sure you are in select mode (black cursor). And make sure you start the drag by clicking on the map, not on a unit (unless the unit is a Tile).
If you were using the FoW tools and forgot to turn it off, that would cause drag selection to not work. You can set Select mode from the BG button, or just press Control-1 (Command-1 on a Mac).
This is how it should look just before you release the mouse after a drag.

Alright, I got home tried it and it didn't work and there was no cursor menu under the button. I hosted a game and whamo it worked but still no cursor button. I went back removed everything and started 1.07a, then reinstalled and it now works standalone but still no cursor menu. Repeated from 1.07 and cursor menu appears. So end result it works, what caused it to not work I don't know.

Alright, I wiped all my prefs and reinstalled into an empty directory.
I believe it is working right now.
When fog of war is "on" the cursor mode can be selected, which makes sense because there would only be the default "select" mode when it was off.

Do the hotkeys not work, either? Control-1 should always give you the Selection cursor, regardless of whether FoW is enabled or not, or whether the FoW panel is open or not.
Just to clarify, it's on purpose that you can close the FoW panel and continue using a FoW tool. And for cases when you forget to turn off a tool, there's a quick way to get back to Select mode.

Ah, I guess this could use a little explanation.
Hotkeys and Cursor Modes:
Control-1 = Select
Control-2 = Rectangle Reveal
Control-3 = Circle Reveal
Control-4 = Polygon Reveal
Control-5 = Freehand Reveal
Control-6 = Rectangle Conceal
Control-7 = Circle Conceal
Control-8 = Polygon Conceal
Control-9 = Freehand Conceal
(Note that Mac users use Command instead of Control)

This was an oversight on my part. It makes sense that the cursor should automatically revert to "Select" mode if FoW is disabled. I'm adding this to v1.0.8a.greytale wrote:The answer is, if you leave a FOW tool selected when you disable FOW it does not default back to "select", so you can no longer drag and select and the mode menu is no longer available. You must change back to "select" before you disable "FOW".
Edit: Implemented for v1.0.8a.
