BRPG v1.0.7a released |
|
BRPG v1.0.7a is now available for download. It is now the default BRPG download (supplanting v1.0.2b).
This is a full install, not a patch.
The main features of this update are:
• Bug fixes
• Text labels for figures may now be nested (i.e., grouped together in a submenu), to allow for better organization and access to more labels with less clutter
The format for Encounters and Deployments has not changed since v1.0.6b.
As usual, see the included ReadMe file for more details.
Download BRPG v1.0.7a here:
(be sure to get the right one for your platform)
http://www.battlegroundsgames.com/BRPGv107aWin.zip
http://www.battlegroundsgames.com/BRPGv107aMac.zip
Installation instructions are included in each zip file.

Sigh. It's been reported that there may be problems with the Fog of War feature in this release. I'll look into it tomorrow. Just wanted to warn anyone that may be considering running a game soon with this beta, that uses FoW.
EDIT: See below

Actually, neither Farland nor I have been able to duplicate the supposed FoW problem, so it may have just been a weird fluke that was reported and mistakenly diagnosed as being FoW-related.
If that's the case, then v1.0.7a has a very good change of making it out of beta status and becoming the new official release.
Update: It seems the FoW problem was merely a case of insufficient RAM, and wasn't a bug, after all.

The only significant problem reported with v1.0.7a seems to be a bug that affects the Turn Sequencer (see http://www.battlegroundsgames.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1163), so I've uploaded a small patch that fixes this issue.
It seems I was wrong about this being a Windows-only problem, so Mac users should install this patch as well.
Download the patch here:
http://www.battlegroundsgames.com/Patch_for_v107a.zip (1.35 MB)
Once you've downloaded and unzipped the archive, drag the enclosed "Browser.dxr" file into your BRPG v1.0.7a directory, and overwrite the existing "Browser.dxr" file (BRPG can't be running when you do this). That's all there is to it.
Later today, I will re-upload v1.0.7a with the patch pre-applied, so that folks who don't have v1.0.7a yet don't have to bother installing the patch themselves. I'm just providing the patch here for those of you who already have v1.0.7a, so that you don't have to download an 80MB zip just to get a fix that involved adding a single line of code.

It's official! v1.0.7a is now the new default BRPG download (finally supplanting v1.0.2b).
I've edited the opening post to reflect this.

v1.0.7a is no longer the latest non-beta release. It has now been replaced by v1.0.8a.
