BRPG v1.0.7 beta released |
|
BRPG v1.0.7 is now available for download. It is to be considered in beta status for the time being. If nothing major is found to be wrong with it in the next week or so, I'll take it out of beta and it will become the default BRPG download. And if something is wrong with it, I'll fix it and re-release it.
This is a full install, not a patch.
The main features of this update are:
• Bug fixes
• Added a Text Macros feature
• Added the ability to Export and Import media asset bundles, which are useful for transferring content to the players before each session
• A modified version of the Turn Sequencer is now available to players
The format for Encounters and Deployments has not changed since v1.0.6b.
As usual, see the included ReadMe file for more details.
Download BRPG v1.0.7 here:
(be sure to get the right one for your platform)

Installation instructions are included in each zip file.

[OSX, BRPG Demo, gamemaster mode, hosting, with no clients connected]
Loaded one of the default maps. Added a bengal tiger. Copied that tiger. Moved them both around, with both drags, and keyboard commands.
Changed the map.
Now both tigers can be selected, both can move with the keyboard, but only one can be dragged.
I deleted the offending figure, copied the good one, pasted, and got another "good one" that could be dragged.
Do figures get intentionally locked in BRPG?

No, figures can't even be locked on purpose. Sounds like a bug.
As a workaround, you might try saving the Encounter, then reloading it, to see if the problem fixes itself.
This is odd, though, since the last thing I did before compiling v1.0.7 was to clone a bunch of figures and drag them around, and it worked fine. Please let me know if this happens regularly, or if it was a one-time glitch.

Text macros:
I forgot to mention that the text macro feature is accessed from the chat window (meaning you have to be hosting or have joined a game). Press the "TM" button and select which list of macros you want to view. Should I have it just automatically open the last-used list, unless you right-click or something?
BTW, the TM button and the button with the bell on it are just placeholders, until I come up with nicer button graphics. I'm open to ideas or submissions.

Hmm the text macros take a while to load, so I definitely think it would be better to load the last-used set as long as they are cached once loaded.

I could probably whip some really cool transparent looking ones in GIMP for you.

I was hoping for small buttons, just prettier. Those look nice, but don't really match any of the current controls, in style.

*whistles innocently*
I wouldn't work too hard trying to improve the current interface's appearance, since it's pretty hopeless.
I still think Flash is the best way to go for that, even if it means remaking a lot of the interface elements.
