1.4e - OSX - Dice lookup table - line breaks and more

Post by hjmaier » Sun Mar 15, 2009 8:55 am

Hi,

i have a strange behavior on the dice roll lookup table. I am adding my table here. Maybe you can understand the error better then.

First error: In the drop down to select the table, strange characters apear (I guess the name is too long?)

second error: Line breaks are not correctly interpreted as it seems. See the picture I added. The second line 21-35 should be the next result line. I was using Text Edit with plain text mode (not RTF) to create that file. The example weather lookup table works fine.

Best regards
hj

Do you have Microsoft Word? If so, open the table file in Word and "Save As" with a shorter filename (preferably under 27 characters and make sure to save in "Text Only (MS-DOS)" format.

I've done it for you, in case you don't have Word or the ability to save in that text format. Tested it, works fine.

Thank you. I used TextWrangler to save the file correctly. Maybe you should put this information somewhere in a FAQ. it can be a bit frustrating for OSX Users.

Is TextWrangler a free download?

I'm covering this in the updated User Manual.

You may also want to read this thread to get a little more info regarding table creation.
