Re: BG and Voice Chat?

I also got a Ventrilo client set up, but have been unable to get the server to work properly. Since the Ventrilo server is WIndows-only, I am running it on my WIndows virtual machine. I set up port-forwarding for it on my router, but since my Mac and my Windows VM share the same internal IP address...

Re: How to fix visual quirks when running BRPG or BGE in Win

Probably has something to do with the VM software. I've never seen those issues in Win7 Pro, Win8 Pro, or WinXP Pro

I am not able to reproduce your graphical glitch using any theme in Windows 7

Are you sure it was Windows 7?

Re: BGE v1.7 beta released

A bug has been reported that can corrupt saved games (and autosaves) in BGE v1.7. If you are using v1.7, be sure to install the patch offered in this forum thread . You should add that hotfix to the main download when you get the chance (and add some minor version or something to denote the change)...

Re: Problems creating components

I just looked up Bulk Rename Utility and I take back my previous comment. Compared to this, IrfanView's Batch Rename is quite simple! :D Last time I used irfanview's bulk rename it only worked for images (which I guess is fine in your case). Bulk Rename Utility might look intimidating but it only t...

New BattlegroundsGames Portal is up!

heruca just launched his new wordpress site, replacing the old front pages. http://battlegroundsgames.com (Hold shift & click refresh if you still see the old site) He went with a light-colored theme this time, as such the default forum theme was switched to a light-colored one. Re: Looking for Umpires for Internet Minis

I generally recommend against posting email addresses on a public forum, but that's sort of a moot point since you used it as your username as well.
Feel free to PM me if you want that changed.

Good luck with your games.

Re: The Movie and TV Thread

I recently watched Inside Out by Pixar. Ingenious premise and superb humor. It follows the adventures of the personifications of a girl's emotions inside her mind as she grows up. The humor is more sophisticated and subtle than most such movies and will not be understood by young children (though it...

Nice ;-) I don't use dice, but if I did I would definitely use those.

If those were made from a template, I suggest you consider making a black dice version too ;-)

Re: The Movie and TV Thread

Is that something I can watch with my young kids? Absolutely. Patema Inverted and all of the Miyazaki films were intended for all ages. They're basically the Disney / Dreamworks movies of Japan. In fact one of the Miyazaki films was branded as Disney in the US (The Secret World of Arrietty). Studio...

Re: The Movie and TV Thread

If you like animated films at all, I highly recommend Patema Inverted. Best movie I've seen in years. Similar to the style of the Miyazaki movies, which I also recommend if you've never seen them.

Edited the OP to clarify that subscriptions are optional (so people viewing google search results don't assume that's the only way to own BG)

Ah. Well how are you rotating it currently? You could probably just change the registration point from the center to the corner and rotate on the new registration point using the normal rotation method. http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Director/11.5/UsingScripting/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811d64c1a1b3-7e...

Re: Unable to open game file (*.BGE) with BGE.

Yes, battlegrounds save data is just a text file. If you send the encounter to heruca or post it here, there's a chance he'll be able to find the bug and repair it for you. I too am willing to look at it, though heruca is much more likely the find the problem. In the future, of course, I recommend y...

And by that he means you should ensure that your export/save settings in your image editor are set to save transparency.
Even if it has a transparent background while editing, often the export settings default to having transparency disabled.
