Is there REALLY any negative points to just running Battlegrounds and BGE under Parallels? I'd really like to go to Lion and don't know that much about MACs to build a separate partition running Snow Leopard. There's no reason you couldn't use BGE under Parallels, and it should work fine. The only ...

There is no currently-maintained version of Wine for OS X, and I have not purchased a license to Crossover (a commercial fork of Wine). If BRPG runs under these environments in Linux, it ought to run fine in OS X the same way. Unfortunately all of the options (with the exception of a second Snow Leo...

Does the Windows version of BRPG run under Wine or Crossover on OS X? I suppose that might be another option.

Rosetta will definitely be gone

So it is confirmed that Rosetta will not even be installable under Lion. It has been completely retired. Does that mean Mac users with paid BRPG licenses are left with the options... A - buy Windows and boot into it to use BRPG B - do not upgrade to Lion and miss out on its host of improvements C - ...

So far so good: my merged BRPG folder works on both Mac and Windows. Unfortunately yes, BRPG modifies the user cast file and one or two others periodically, so it probably can't be run straight from the Dropbox folder. One would either have to copy the folder, or disable the Dropbox applet while pla...

I discovered one difference in the otherwise identical INI files:

In the Mac file:
UseTitleBar=0

Windows:
UseTitleBar=1

What does this do? Would one or the other work on both platforms?

Thanks for the quick reply, Heruca! I noticed the different Extras contents after I posted the forum topic. Optimistically merged their contents... would that cause problems? i.e. is the Mac version going to try and load Windows extras, or vice-versa? Also, I wondered about autosaves. Will it cause ...

Multiplatform software sync/push

I have to say it... the process of upgrading BRPG is kinda ugly. No, I don't blame anyone here - it's a complex program, and I'm just glad it exists. But having to move all downloaded files, maps, saves, artpacks, etc. manually each time there's an upgrade can be... time consuming. My players, one i...

The links for the patches don't seem to be working. Regular version downloads (or the Mac one, at least) work though.

RSS feed would be ideal, but if one can subscribe to email notifications of the product releases forum, that will do in a pinch. Many thanks go out - you guys are always very prompt in responding on these forums, and it's much appreciated.

RSS feed or other notifications

I was hoping you could set up an RSS feed, iCalendar, or email list to let us know there is a new version of BRPG without having to manually check the website periodically. I'm not sure what you're using for the main website's news section (looks like straight HTML?), but there should be an add-on m...

Capture a window in OS X

As mentioned, cmd-shift-4 will give you a selection marquee on OS X. Another cool tip is to hit cmd-shift-4, and then hit the spacebar - your marquee will change to a camera-shaped cursor, and any window you move it over will hilight. Clicking that window will capture a screenshot of it.

Saved!

I had opened BRPG when I had two displays hooked up, and moved the window to a secondary display. Now that I'm on one display, the BRPG window was off the screen and I couldn't get it back! Hooray for this tip - deleting the preferences fixed the problem. :)
