I like this idea alot. I would add that the idea of customizable distances is essential to this working. If the dist is customizable, then this works for area maps in KM and interior maps in meters (yeah, not all of us use miles and feet) or could concievably be used for lightyears for that matter.

I agree Jester. PGS requires different "Initiative" (to use the D&D term) every round. This means the turn sequencer would need to be reapllied every round. I like the possibility of a simpler version that could account for different attacks times in different rounds would be very nice. ATM I just h...

This particular topic is of personal interest to me. Recently I hired an old marketing expert (worked for some really big name companies around the world, but he is a friend, so I got him on the cheap) for help with pricing of PGS. He set the price scheme in line with the big boys, and I squawked. H...

I tried ORPG as well a while ago. I would like to report at least one thing it does very well ... make BGRPG look good. Maybe it has uber features I was not able to figure out, but I did not care for what I saw. I am sure some people must have positive things to say about it, I would like to hear th...

Sounds like things are comming along great. I am glad the zoom is working out, it will be nice. I also like the "extras" you are going to include. Like you said it may not be necessary, but it sure is nice. Rather than flipping all the images in PS or other, I can add variety to the MoBs simply by f...

I love gmail, but if you take the total number of google employees working on it and divide by the product goodness you get a releatively low coolness efficientcy score. BPRPG on the other hand scores very high. :)

I understand Omni's question and echo it to some degree. I am however very gald this is being added. I tend to load maps and then decide I don't like something and change it a few times (indecisive I guess). I know we discussed this elsewhere and am glad to have the purge function. I assume there is...

I like the idea of a mouse scroll wheel, but I see the problem of mac support and I personally use only a tac-ball. Most programs understand my config of the ball so that it can function like a uni-scroll, but not all. I am not in favor of one set of controls for windows and another for mac. It comp...

In the testing I have done with PGS on BPRPG the only difficulty is the dice thing. That has already been addressed, so no point rehashing. In my face to face games I often mod the dice (like a d5 is just a d10 halved). It is not like I have a bag of d5s laying around. So the work arounds of rolling...

Sadly it has been the experience of PF that most people will not register unless you force them to at gun point. I kind of like the table graphic, however, it does give players an idea of map size and their aproximate position on said map. I personally changed the FoW table graphic to a black screen and planed on providing that to my players as a file for them to install in the correct directory so that the ta...

RC2

Sorry for kind of a pointless post, but just wanted to comment on RC2. I really like the changes over RC1. Once a couple of minor bugs are squashed I think you could really have a retail product here. It contains all the "required" features IMO. In fact, it has a great deal of "gee wiz" factors as w...

Yes, you'll quickly discover that things don't appear exactly where they should be at anything other than 1:1 zoom. I haven't tested zoom yet with large figure bases. Perhaps that's why Jixxala had a problem with the horse "travelling"? Beat me to it from my edit. I think you may be right on that. ...

Agreed on using turn seq to find them, also noticed that at least the horse figure will "travel" when using the zoom. On my map the figure would travel about 1 grid square diagonally when zooming in or out. When the horse was off his base was difficult to select, but going to 100% zoom would return ...

Poser would be ideal for character animations. I wish I knew how to use it. But I think that the best animations to use in BRPG would be for elements of the map, or spell effects, rather than figures. Yup I agree too. They would not really be hard to make, in fact from my experience it would be eas...

Yup photoshop does a very simple job of animations. I use it all the time for avatars and similar simple animations. I like the ad as it stands now. I agree some screenies faded into the background could be a nice touch, but would have to see and compare. Better not to oversaturate. Ultimately the ad is not to buy BGRPG on the spot, it is to get them to come to the website where they will then learn more and then ...

... I'd also like to allow for server-hosted content, in the future. The GM would upload the new content for each session onto a server, and BRPG pulls content from that server whenever it's needed. This would all happen transparently during a game. For example, when the GM changes the map, just a ...

A question on the preload. Is it possible to send all materials in, for instance, a .rar and have the clients/players unpack it and put it into the correct folders, or will they have to transfer it through BGRPG? If they can get it in .rar it can be emailed to them a few days in advance of the sessi...
